Caroline, Carol and Barbara from the FoGM Committee were delighted to attend the 2024 Annual Art Competition for Young People Prizegiving Event at Kelvingrove on Thurday 26th September. The Central Hall in Kelvingrove was full of very excited children and their friends and family as they waited for their name to be called so that they could receive the medals and certificates they had won for producing the best artistic and creative entries for this year’s competition. Caroline, our Chairperson was invited to give a short speech about how delighted FoGM is to sponsor such an important event each year; also about our history as a society and our long standing connection with the Annual Art Competition. Caroline finished by presenting special awards, including the Tom J Honeyman Senior Award for the most outstanding artwork produced by a Secondary aged Pupil who submitted entries. The evening finished with everyone enjoying a delicious finger buffet in the restaurant afterwards. You will be able to see the exhibition of this year’s prizewinners at Kelvingrove until the end of October. Please go and have a look as you will see some fabulous work by the young people.
