Nearly 70 Friends and their guests were delighted to attend an in-person, illustrated talk by well-known artist, author and broadcaster Lachlan Goudie in magnificent Kelvingrove’s North Gallery. Lachlan, who is such a fan of Kelvingrove, had included Rembrandt’s “Man in Armour” painting in a chapter of his new book, “The Secrets of Painting”. During Lachlan’s presentation, we discovered how artists have used a wide variety of materials and techniques from very civilisations 36,000 years ago; all the centuries that have passed since then; to the present day with the use of Artificial Intelligence! After his talk, we were given the opportunity to ask questions and then we were able to speak to Lachlan individually and purchase his new book. Before he left, Lachlan very kindly gave a pop-up mini lecture on the Rembrandt painting in Kelvingrove’s Dutch Gallery. We all thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful event and we would like to thank Lachlan very much for coming to Glasgow during his busy schedule and bringing alive the artwork and information that is in his new publication.
