Over One Hundred Friends came together to enjoy a drinks reception, followed by a delicious, three-course Christmas Lunch in the restaurant at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. After lunch, which was finished off with tea/coffee and mince pies, the excitement mounted as we waited for the Christmas raffle organised by the shop. As Catherine McGurk, the Merchandise Buyer for Glasgow Life and her team read out raffle ticket numbers and handed out the prizes, everyone was delighted with their individual gift. There were some envious stares across tables as the beautiful and tasteful selection of gifts were unwrapped! The event finished with Friends having the opportunity to indulge in a little retail therapy and buy gifts from the Shop with a special discount.
Many thanks to all the teams of staff at Kelvingrove Art Gallery; at Reception,the Cloakroom, the Restaurant and the Shop; for organising such a thoroughly enjoyable event for us. We would particularly like to thank Catherine, Lucy and John from the Retail Department and Chris, Colin and Derek from the Restaurant for going the extra mile to make sure all the Friends had a Christmas Lunch to remember, particularly after all the hard times and difficulties of meeting up over the last few years.
