We were delighted to receive these lovely photographs from the Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary recently. They show some of the school groups taking part in the Education and Gardening sessions for school children from the East End of Glasgow that was funded by FoGM with a grant of 1,000 last summer.
The children had a tour of the new museum at the Royal Infirmary which highlights the pivotal role Glasgow Royal Infirmary has played in healthcare worldwide. They also visited the garden area, including the bee hives; assisted in the creation of a new medicinal herb garden and took part in a competition to design labelling for the garden.
The children all enjoyed their visit and it is hoped this will be the start of their continued involvement and engagement with the garden group and other activities organised by the Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
FoGM has been pleased to support this worthwhile project and it is hoped that a visit for Friends, to the museum at Glasgow Royal Infirmary with a talk and guided tour, can be organised for Spring this year. Information will be sent out as soon as a date can be finalised.
