You are invited to attend this special FoGM event at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow. As well as viewing the exhibition Still Glasgow, we will have a curator-led tour with tea/coffee and cakes afterwards.
The exhibition has photography at its core and looks at Glasgow, past and present. Still Glasgow comprises over 80 works and showcases well-known photographs of the city drawn from Glasgow Life Museums’ collection alongside other, lesser-known works, some of which explore how artists work with the photographic medium and the city of Glasgow within their practice. Some photographs on display have not been exhibited since their acquisition by Glasgow Life Museums, including Alan Dimmick’s portrait of rock band Franz Ferdinand, and David Eustace’s Buskers Portfolio from 1993.
Note that the exhibition is on the 3rd floor and the lift is currently not working, therefore please be advised that there are three floors of stairs to climb in order to view the exhibition.
Numbers are limited so if you wish to attend, please contact us asap but by Friday 25th September
