The Glasgow School of Art is delighted to invite the Friends of Glasgow Museums for an exclusive private tour of the GSA Archives and Collections. Members will have the chance to view the unique Helen Cargill Thompson Silversmithing and Jewellery collection and to hear more about the impact of FoGM’s generous support. The Archives and Collections Department at the GSA illustrates the history of the institution and the development of its teaching practices since it was established in 1845. Their mission is to actively safeguard, develop, document and preserve the institutional records of the GSA and the artefacts and archives of staff, students, businesses and individuals associated with the School. They provide a rich resource for the study of art, design, architecture and art education.
