Hugo from Drawing Life Glasgow and model Topaz organised a beautifully themed practical class based on Cadell?s painting, The Orange Blind on display in Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Hugo had recreated the interior from photographs of the dining room at the Glasgow Art Club with superimposed furnishings and colours, including an orange blind. Participants were directed through perspective, eye levels and vanishing points to help them compose their own versions. Topaz became our ?Lady in Black? which brought the aesthetic of Cadell?s painting to life. A thoroughly enjoyable and creative way to spend an afternoon.
